Barlow Author Set to Speak to Ontario’s Energy Industry About Major Organizational Change

Published: January 5, 2016

Barlow Book Publishing author Steve Pinkus will be the key speaker at an annual conference of 500 energy industry professionals in January.

Pinkus, a longtime consultant in organizational change, will share insights from his new book, Big Change: A 10-Step Plan to Lead Organizational Transformations from the Inside.

The energy industry is one of the many sectors grappling with corporate mergers and industry disruptions that put senior managers into the difficult position of trying to change the way their organizations work. Big change in an organization is challenging, and if it’s not done well, millions of dollars can be squandered, and companies can fail.

Pinkus, with more than 20 years of consulting expertise, says that outside consultants are useful to propose a strategy to change organizations. But he argues that the best way to implement that change is to do it from the inside, under the guidance of managers who know the business. His new book offers a step-by-step plan for managers to accomplish this difficult task.

Pinkus will be speaking on January 14th to the Electrical Distributors Association’s three-day annual conference. It’s one of the largest combined energy conferences and exhibitions in Canada.
