Darren Gallop
Darren Gallop is a founder, CEO, board director, and trusted advisor. He began his entrepreneurial career in 2005, founding an independent record label after spending eight years as a professional musician and audio studio engineer. In 2008, he launched his first tech startup, Marcato, growing it from ideation to global adoption, powering world-class events such as Coachella, Burning Man, X Games, and Just for Laughs, until its successful exit. That journey cemented his conviction that trust, security, and leadership are essential for a company to scale.
Today, Darren is the CEO and co-founder of Carbide Secure, a Canadian cybersecurity company helping small and medium-sized businesses navigate cybersecurity, data privacy, and AI governance. He holds a Master of Engineering in Engineering Management and multiple industry certifications. He serves as vice chair of the board of directors of the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2), the world’s largest cybersecurity certification body. In his spare time, Darren volunteers with the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, participating in marine search-and-rescue operations.
