Dr. Jacqueline Shan

Dr. Jacqueline Shan was named Alberta’s Woman Entrepreneur of the Year in 2005. A natural science entrepreneur, she holds a Ph.D. in physiology from the University of Alberta and Doctorate of Science in Pharmacology from Peking Union Medical College. She has been widely profiled on national TV, in newspapers, and magazines across Canada, and is the creator of the #1 bestselling cold remedy COLD-FX. In September 2013, Shan launched a new company, Afinity Life Sciences Inc., a life science innovation company focused on developing anti-aging products to meet the growing health needs of an aging population. Afinity launched a new line of omega-3 supplements for baby boomers and active agers in the winter of 2014.

Shan has received more than 25 national and international awards in both business and science, including the Alberta Centennial Medal and the inaugural Best of Best of Chinese-Canadian Entrepreneurs from the Chinese Canadian Business Association. She has been recognized as one of Canada’s 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network, as one of Canada’s 50 Most Powerful Women by Profit magazine, designated as a Woman of the Vision by Global Television, inducted into the Canadian Pharmaceutical Industry Hall of Fame, and has been on the cover of more than 10 science and business magazines in Canada.
